Training Field Report: Phase 2 Strength Pivot

Athlete: Nicholos Allen Collins
I. Primary Lift: Barbell Bench Press
Warm-up Protocol: 60×15, 100×10, 140×5, 190×5.
Working Sets: 240x3x2.
Performance Note: Sets were smooth but required significant effort; bar speed was consistent though not “snappy.”
Peak Set: 250x3x1.
Performance Note: Handled with ease; athlete reported “heavy but smooth” with approximately one rep left in reserve.
II. Accessory Work
Weighted Dips: 5 sets total; 16×4, 16×2.
Status: High muscular fatigue noted; athlete reached total cessation (gassed out) following the heavy pressing volume.
EZ-Bar Skull Crushers: 40x15x3.
Status: Completed with no joint issues or clicking in the elbows or shoulders.
III. Active Recovery & Metabolic Conditioning
Cycling: 20-minute steady-state bike session.
Objective: Facilitate blood flow and “flush” the system to aid CNS recovery and reduce metabolic byproduct accumulation.
IV. Physiological Metrics & Observations
Heart Rate (HR): Peak session HR recorded at 89 BPM during working sets.
Biomechanical Status: Shoulders and elbows reported clear of pain/tightness despite the high mechanical tension of 250 lb loads.
Nutritional Support: Current intake target is 3,500 calories with a protein floor of 200gā275g.
Hydration Target: Maintaining >77% Body Water to ensure joint capsule lubrication for upcoming high-intensity loads.
